Safari was something Litz was really looking forward to. It had not been hard to find an option safe enough for a woman alone. She easily booked the experience through an online platform gathering enough reviews to make the trip reliably enjoyable.

She designed her outfit carefully. What to wear to be glamorous enough for a picture, but comfortable enough to be able to enjoy the warm sand under her feet? She opted for a white cotton jumpsuit, a cotton jacket to protect her arms from the burning sun and a color-matched silk scarf to protect her head as well. She looked at herself in the mirror and found herself stylish. A sudden note of happiness played inside her and she headed to the cool 4×4 waiting for her.

The driver kindly asked her to sit next to him, as the other guests would be in pairs. She was a bit scared, but accepted and tried to think of the better view being in front. Luckily the driver proved himself professional enough not to bring the conversation to awkward levels. Soon the other guests were picked up: a couple of Romanians with a young woman, and a couple of Greeks. Litz felt relieved not to be the only single woman on the trip. Travelling solo she had learned that being a single woman was still something catching too much attention in many places.

They arrived at the first stop of the Safari with a nice vibe. Litz took a seat at a comfortable Arab boudoir, tasting delicious dates and drinking hot coffee. She took some distance from the quads arena, the most attractive experience of that stop. It was exciting, but quite dangerous without proper training. She had carefully considered the idea, until she saw a trendy Afro-American girl falling abruptly on the sand with her quad reversed. All her friends were promptly around her to help her safely getting out of the quad. Litz decided not to take that risk.

Dune bashing was very exciting. She hadn’t feel that adreline for a long time. She felt energized and happy. The mood in the car exploded, helped by the right music.

After shaking their bodies and minds on the dunes, they were accompanied to a beautiful spot in the desert to admire the sunset. Litz left her shoes and started appreciating the feeling of the sand on her toes. She sat down mindfully on a dune and watched the sunset with her legs crossed and her arms relaxed, in order to take the most from the solar rays at their last time of the day. It is scientifically proved that watching the sunset improves your mental wellbeing. Or, better, research studies demonstrated the health benefits of spending time close to nature. Litz couldn’t agree more with that.

After releasing all the energy and calming down in front of the sun, the Safari group headed to the dinner party, where lots of other Safari groups gathered to celebrate the day with traditional Arab food and dance show. Before taking her seat, Litz took a gorgeous picture on a (very tired) camel. Many people refused to ride the camels to defend the animals’ rights.

The dinner was served as a rich buffet with different options to accommodate any dietary request. Litz tried a bit of everything, meat included. Despite her inner tendency to reduce meat’s consumption, she didn’t follow a vegetarian diet. She then enjoyed the elegant belly dance, part of a choreography played by a whole team of dancers and culminating into putting the word “Dubai” on fire. At that point Litz had a smile printed on her face and she was tired enough to call that a day.

The group gathered and came back to the car. Everyone was silent and romantic music played to soothe the couples after the trip. Litz ignored the music and watched instead along the way lots of local people camping on the desert for the night under the stars.

Her mind wondered, almost asleep, looking at Dubai skyline from the car’s window.
